Micron Technology Inc. still wants Lexar Media Inc., but will it pay up? According to this article, Micron says ready to raise offer for Lexar, Micron "raised its offer . . . by about 5 percent." However, some key Lexar shareholders remain unsatisfied. Some say the deal will happen. We'll see.
According to Mittal says won't share Arcelor with others, Mittal Steel, the world's largest steel company, is keen on acquiring Arcelor. The deal has already been approved by the EU. However, Arcelor, the world's second-largest steelmaker, is keen on notbeing acquired by Mittal Steel. Arcelor is negotiating a deal that would combine it with Severstal, a Russian steel company controlled by Alexei Mordashov. Mittal Steel's Lakshmi Mittal, however, "dismissed the idea of taking a minority stake in Arcelor alongside Russian steel magnate Alexei Mordashov." Now it's getting interesting . . .
